eSahara win MSI BEAT IT EU qual #2
Electronic Sahara have made the best they could out of missing ESWC, as they secured a spot at the next major event, MSI BEAT IT 2011 at DreamHack Winter, by defeating BX3 2-0 in the final of the second European online qualifier.
In the shadow of ESWC, MSI BEAT IT 2011 EU qualifier #2 has been taking place online this weekend and it reached its end tonight.
One of the finalists was Electronic Sahara, who found themselves missing ESWC due to chosing WCG qualifier over the ESWC qualifier, as they were happening on the same weekend a while back.
After disposing of KerchNET, one of their main competitors for this tournament in the semi-final, eSahara had to beat a Norwegian mix-team in the final. The Norwegians BX3 found themselves in the final after they received a default win against Danish mix-team face! whose player Nicolai "moxxi" Tinggaard was found using wallhack according to the tournament's admin.
The final turned out to be quite onesided with Electronic Sahara winning comfortably 16-6 on de_nuke and 16-3 on de_inferno.
This victory will give Electronic Sahara a spot in the $30,000 MSI BEAT IT 2011 tournament at DreamHack Winter, and along that a $1,000 prize to help cover the expenses.
The final tournament will take place in Jönköping, Sweden from November 24-27 and it will host 16 teams. Electronic Sahara join the list as the fifth qualified team:
The team list will be further expanded next weekend, when the 3rd online qualifier is scheduled and it will for a change award 3 teams with a spot in the final tournament. Also on the weekend after that, DreamHack Balkan will take place in Romania, gathering 10 best teams from the region on LAN and sending two of them to Sweden.
