The finals for EPS Winter 2011 were held last weekend with mousesports once again taking the crown as German's best Counter-Strike team.

As in the past Summer's EPS season, only the final was left for the LAN playoffs as the rest of the season was finished online, as well as a few matches at Intel Friday Night Games.

In the grand final mousesports faced the Swedish/Norwegian ESC Gaming, who were allowed to participate in EPS due to having moved three people to Frankfurt for the duration of the season.

The Germans quickly jumped up to a 11-4 lead at half on de_inferno after a strong defensive half. ESC Gaming tried their best to fight back in the second half but it wasn't enough, as they ended up losing with a total score of 8-16.

Second map was de_dust2 where it was ESC who had the lead after their opening terrorist half, 10-5. After swapping sides the defending champions turned it up a notch and finished the map with a 11-3 second half score, 16-13 total.

Final standings for EPS Winter 2011

1. Germany mousesports - 6,000€
2. Sweden ESC Gaming - 3,000€
3. Germany Alternate - 1,800€
4. Germany myRevenge.de - 1,200€

This makes it eight EPS Germany titles in a row for mousesports who have continuously proven themselves as the best German team and despite of ESC Gaming participating, this time was no different.

The grand final for League Cup was also played on LAN yesterday and mousesports came out victorious in that as well. They had previously knocked out ESC Gaming online in the semi-finals and faced frantiC.SNOGARD in the finals.

First map was de_tuscan where frantiC.SNOGARD pushed mouz to their limits but came up short in the end in overtime, 18-21. Deciding map ended up being de_nuke where an impressive CT side gave mouz a 12-3 lead which they were able to hold on to as terrorists, winning the map 16-6.

Final standings for League Cup Winter 2011

1. Germany mousesports
2.
Germany frantiC.SNOGARD
3-4.
Germany Alternate
3-4.
Sweden ESC Gaming

By winning two titles on one weekend, mousesports have proven to be the clear number one team in Germany even though ESC Gaming had brought Karl-William "kalle" Haraldsen back from inactivity for the last few events of the year.

2011-12-05 08:33
You could have a point unfortunately :/
2011-12-06 08:56
Ehm.. Expected. But I didn't expect ESC to play so bad tho' :/
2011-12-04 22:36
horrible organization...
2011-12-04 22:37
why?
2011-12-04 23:01
did you see the final? pc problems, delays etc etc...
2011-12-04 23:07
karrigan is just too good for this game. I'd say he's top 5 in the world :) haters g0nna hate
2011-12-04 22:38
well, he's in there but to be honest it's really hard to name a top5 without leaving someone really good out. he's definitely in the top10, that's for sure. f0rest GeT_RiGhT Neo roman karrigan markeloff Edward trace Gux Friis that's probably the ten players that are the best skillwise. but there's so much more than just aim in a game like CS.
2011-12-04 23:00
+1
2011-12-04 23:04
what about moddii?
2011-12-04 23:07
the way i see it he's not in his best shape at the moment and therefore those players mentioned above are rated higher. though perhaps moddii is better than roman, im not entirely sure.
2011-12-04 23:17
if you are talking about current shape why neo is there? taz is like 20x better than him like last 4-5 tournaments.starix is in good shape aswell
2011-12-04 23:29
because when it comes to roman/moddii it's much closer on who is the best player of them while Neo is a monster and you cant deny that. yes i thought about starix but i really havent seen him too much lately so i left him out and i honestly think the players i mentioned are all better than him.
2011-12-05 00:03
yes neo is monster(and one of my fav players)...no doubt about that but if you want objectively talking about best current players, taz deserves it more than neo ATM
2011-12-05 00:11
I'd personally say n0thing, kalle, moddii > roman. mousesports are better than ESC these days because of teamplay and tactics, and of course karrigan. roman is an excellent, important player as well though, I'm not arguing that.
2011-12-04 23:34
i'd say kalle back before he took his break from ESC. at this point i dont think he's as good as the mentioned players. n0thing is a hard case to judge seeing as he is playing in an american team which is not very successful. we'd have to see him in an european topteam before we can truly judge how good he is.
2011-12-05 00:04
Hm, he was the best rated player at DH Winter. MVP vs AGAiN, 73% and 9% above team average vs mouz. hltv.org/?pageid=183&eventid=850 I believe n0thing would be a top 10 player if he lived in Europe. Speculations will be speculations though.
2011-12-05 00:41
yep, it's nearly impossible to say who's better than the other of the ones you mention, but to me, karrigan is dA best man
2011-12-04 23:25
yeah, he has been sick lately, i gotta admit :)
2011-12-05 00:05
more like top20-30 is doable
2011-12-05 04:05
taz should surely be counted among in, nodoubtaboutthat, u put roman&karrigan prior 2 navi players, u kidding? what achievement they2've brought for mouz in 2011 internationally
2011-12-05 06:35
Are You saying that ceh9 is better than karrigan? You should smoke less...
2011-12-05 10:30
my list was not about achievements, its about raw skill. i was thinking of putting starix in there but ultimately i think roman is a better player (and a very underrated one, just because he is playing in a team that isnt winning too much) and mentioned karrigan has just been terrific lately. people will disagree and have their own lists, that's just the way it is and it's fine. you cant really make a 100% certain list of who is actually the best players. this is just my opinion. between those last ~3 spots on the list it is very even and people like starix, zeus, taz etc could just as well be on there, but i decided to go for a top10 so...there u go.
2011-12-05 15:35
top5 idk but top10 for sure! gg mousesport really good shape last 6 month and every day play better. gl in future
2011-12-04 23:03
