Na`Vi pull through by beating ESC
Natus Vincere pulled out yet another comeback, this time in their most important match, as they defeated ESC Gaming 16-14 in a do or die match for them, securing a playoff spot.
In the last match of Group A at the IEM6 World Championship, Natus Vincere had a task of beating ESC Gaming in order to make it through to the playoffs. Before the match, the Ukrainians were sitting on 7 points at 4th place, while the Poles were 2nd with 9 points.
The map turned out to be de_tuscan on which ESC already beat mousesports in their tournament opener. The match started well for the Poles who found themselves having a 9-4 lead early on. However, as they already did a few times today, Natus Vincere rallied at the end of the half and made the score a reasonable 9-6.
Pistol-rounds didn't go in their favor today though, as they won only 2 of 8 until this match, and that number remained after it as well. That gave the Poles a 12-6 lead, which they later turned into 14-10.
However, the Ukrainians already came back twice from being 12-14 down today, and they weren't about to be written off this time either. Round by round they pulled together and managed to clinch an unlikely 16-14 victory, their third one with that score today.
Thanks to that win, Natus Vincere ended up with 10 points in 2nd place, while ESC will still go through to the playoffs as 3rd placed.
