WCG Pan-Am with 100%, Brasil, UMX
WCG Pan-American Championship 2012 will be held on August 24-26 in Santiago, Chile with the American, Brazilian and Canadian representatives announced so far in Counter-Strike 1.6.
Although World Cyber Games 2012 will only feature a promotional CS: Online tournament at the world finals in China, the Pan-American games will once again host a tournament in Counter-Strike 1.6.
The past two events have been won by Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's crew under the names of compLexity and mandic. This time the squad will be donning the name of Brasil Gaming, hoping to right things after a disappointing showing at DreamHack Summer. Lincoln "fnx" Lau announced the team's attendance on his Facebook page.
Last season's ESEA Invite finals were supposed to be the qualifier for WCG Pan-Am for the US, but due to a mostly Canadian team winning and both Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert and Braxton "swag" Pierce parting ways with the team, UMX Gaming has received the spot instead.

Interestingly enough, both Gilbert and Pierce will be attending WCG Pan-Am, but playing for UMX Gaming whose starters Kyle "flowsicK" Mendez and last season's stand-in Paul "pauLy" Guerboyan will not be attending. This will be Pierce's first international tournament.
The Canadian team is centered around two time ESEA champions Kory "semphis" Friesen and Brennan "ele1Nt" Webster with long time Canadian representative Garett "Grt" Bambrough being the third known player. The team also features Friesen's friend Ryan "lars" Larsen and a WCG admin.
WCG has not yet published much information about its Pan-America event but we will do our best to provide coverage from the tournament as the Brazilians will be looking to win their third championship in a row.
