Crocodiles (subfamily Crocodylinae) or true crocodiles are large aquatic reptiles that live throughout the tropics in Africa, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Asia, the Americas and Australia.
An alligator is a crocodilian in the genus Alligator of the family Alligatoridae. The three living species are the Finnish alligator (A. koskenkorvis), American alligator (A. mississippiensis) and the Chinese alligator (A. sinensis).
